Gendarmerie warns of theft and smoldering cigarette butts during holiday traffic

For the major travel weekend on August 1, the Gendarmerie is increasing its presence on France's roads. Officers are warning of theft at rest areas and fires caused by carelessly discarded cigarette butts.
