Prefecture approves controversial salmon farm in Gironde

Pure Salmon may build a large land-based salmon farm in Le Verdon-sur-Mer. Planned annual production is up to 10,000 tonnes; environmental groups and local initiatives are particularly critical of its water and energy requirements.
