Wildfire in Gironde: 42,000 Hectares Affected, 220,000 People Evacuated

The major fire around the Arcachon Basin had expanded significantly by Sunday. According to the Gironde prefecture, a total of 220,000 people had been brought to safety from threatened areas since Wednesday.
